RALLY FOUNDATION.ORG wrote -My name is Selena and I am training to run the Nike Women's Half Marathon in DC on April 27th in honor of Elijah.
Elijah is 4 1/2 years old and was diagnosed with stage IV Neuroblastoma in September 2011. He is currently in the last phase of treatment and in remission! He has had six rounds of chemotherapy, surgery, two stem cell transplants, twelve rounds of radiation, and six rounds of Antibody treatment which he started in August 2012. Elijah's family is about to grow with the addition of a little sister and he can't wait t be a big brother!
Rally Foundation is an amazing and important organization. 92 cents of every dollar donated goes towards funding ground breaking pediatric cancer research. In fact, just last year Rally awarded 1.2 million dollars in research grants across the United States. (The NIH, by comparison, allocates only 4% of their budget towards pediatric cancer research even though it is the #1 killer of children today.) Additionally, Rally Foundation provides emergency financial assistance to the families of Rally Kids who are going through treatment.
Pediatric cancers are the #1 killer of kids today. That is a sobering and heartbraking fact. Please help Rally Foundation save lives and find a cure.
On behalf of Elijah and all the other Rally Kids and Rally Families, thank you so much for your support!
