BENEFITING: RALLY FOUNDATION.ORG
Over the past few weeks, I have seen a lot of nominations encouraging people to either jump in the frigid Lake Superior, or donate $100 to support cancer research. I am not aware of many college students who have $100 to spare, so of course, most people were jumping into the Lake. I recently was nominated, but rather than freeze, I thought: Why not create a fundraiser so people could easily donate any amount of money they want, and not have to jump into the ice-covered lake!
HOW DOES THIS WORK:
I am teaming up with the Rally Foundation to raise money for the support of childhood cancer research. On June 21st, I will be running Grandma's half marathon in Duluth, MN. Every penny that is donated towards this cause will help motivate me to carry on and finish this race.
GET TO KNOW THE CHARITY:
Rally Foundation for Childhood Cancer Research was founded in 2005 in Atlanta, GA to raise awareness and funds to bridge the gap in childhood cancer research funding across the country. Rally empowers volunteers across the country to raise funds for childhood cancer research to find better treatments with fewer long-term side effect and, ultimately, cures.
ARE THEY LEGIT?
Yes. Almost 93% of the funds raised will be spent on the programs
and services that Rally delivers. To see how that compares to other Cancer Research charities, follow the link below:
Thank you so much for being willing to donate towards this cause. Cancer research is an ongoing job that needs constant support. Let's work together to eradicate this disease in our lifetime.
