Hello Family and Friends,
Since I received a kidney from my brother Dustin five years ago, I have been out to make the most of every single day. I ran my first half marathon fourteen months after the transplant. I ran my first full marathon on the three year anniversary of the transplant. I am about to bring it up another notch when I run my first ultra marathon on July 26, 2015. I will be running the San Francisco 52.4 mile back-to-back marathon. I will start my first marathon at midnight, then I will start the second marathon with thousands of other runners at 5:30 AM. I am running this ultra marathon to support ReMend, an organization that is very close to my heart…and kidney! :)
I am proud to be part of this amazing organization since day one. ReMend consists of a group of mentors that are kidney transplant recipients, dialysis patients, or kidney donors. We are here to provide guidance to others affected with kidney failure by sharing our personal experiences.
My goal is to raise $2,500 for ReMend, which will enable us to continue to provide no-cost mentoring, encouragement and guidance to those affected by kidney disease, their families and others involved in their care and treatment.
Please consider supporting my fundraising goal. Whether or not you are able to donate, thank you for your consideration!
