EVENT DATE: Aug 31, 2013
Last year several 1st Ranger Battalion veterans got together and decided that the "boys" needed to be shown some appreciation - especially those young Rangers that move harder, faster and further than any other. We wanted to include local business people that don't get to show their appreciation and raise enough money to create a nice event. We were able to play on a first class golf course and even offset some of the cost for active duty Rangers participating. It was an awesome event, and we were able to donate some funds to GallantFew's Darby Project - Ranger veterans mentoring Rangers leaving active duty.
One of the highlights of last years tournament was a placard at each tee box memorializing and honoring one of the eighteen 1st Battalion Rangers killed since 9/11. It gave a dignity to the event that all appreciated.
On this the second annual event, we hope to have even more local citizens, active duty guys and old guys - the ties that make us Rangers span time, conflict, and age, and it's a blast getting old creaky Rangers connected to young spry ones. There are also sponsorship opportunities - see the pictures for the sponsorship flyer.
