For over 40 years, our supporters have made it possible for thousands of survivors of sexual violence to transform their lives. Last year, Rape Victim Advocates provided services to over 20,000 survivors, loved ones, students ranging in age from 5 to 21, parents, teachers, law enforcement, hospital personnel, other professionals and community members. Thanks to our donors, RVA ensured that no survivor was ever alone and that every survivor was treated with dignity, compassion and respect.
The unprecedented State of Illinois budget crisis has threatened significant funding that enables us to be there when survivors of sexual violence need us most. Our ability to provide services is impacted. Yet we are trying to do everything possible to maintain our current level of service to sexual assault survivors. RVA is now at a critical juncture and needs your support today.

We want you to hear a survivor’s words about how RVA has impacted her life-
RVA helped me find meaning in life. RVA helped me to believe in myself. And RVA helped me start living. I received an amazing gift from RVA – they believed my story and they believed in ME. I felt respected; I felt worthy – for the first time in my life. I am so grateful to my RVA counselor for guiding me on my healing journey. And I am so grateful to RVA for offering their services at no charge to sexual assault survivors and their loved ones. ~Martha
