BENEFITING: PROVIDENCE PORTLAND MEDICAL FOUNDATION
The Hood to Coast relay is the world’s largest relay, as each team runs 200 miles from majestic Mt. Hood in Oregon to the Pacific Ocean in Seaside, OR. The race will be run on August 22 - 23. Over 12,000 runners will compete in teams of 12, with each runner running 3 legs for a total of about 18 miles (all within about 24 hours). I will be running with a team from my school: Ravenscroft. The Ravens in the Hood team has run five years in a row and has raised over $200,000 to support cancer research over that time. Last year’s team raised over $50,000, the fourth highest total out of the 1050 teams that participated. This year, we are looking to top last year’s total.
