BENEFITING: Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation
EVENT: T2T Tower Climb 2015
EVENT DATE: May 17, 2015
Team HBD Maritess will be particpating in the first-ever stair-climb race at One World Trade Center — the nation’s tallest building — to raise money for military veterans struggling with combat-linked disabilities; that's about 2,160 steps to the 90th floor!
The mission is to honor our sister, Maritess, who worked for Cantor Fitzgerald in the North Tower.
The Goal? To raise at least $516 for each HBD Maritess Team Member in recognition of her 41st birthday on May 16th.
We also honor the sacrifice of firefighter Billy Burke who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. Even though Billy knew that the South Tower had already fallen, he chose to remain behind to rescue two workers, one in a wheelchair. When the captain was urged to leave, he responded, "this is my job, this is who I am." Then he went on and the tower collapsed...
Please help us achieve this goal by donating whatever you can by May 10th...no matter how small the denomination!
Or better yet, feel like climbing 180 flights of stairs? Join HBD Maritess!
