Shree Suryodaya Bal Bikash Primary School is a community-based school located in Lalitpur, Nepal. Around 90 students study in this school. The students who come to this school are the children who work in the brick kilns and work in other’s house for living. Because they do not earn enough to get admitted to school and bear all the expenses, the school is doing its best to ensure that the children come to the school regularly. As for this, the school provides daily lunch, one of the means to attract the students to show regular attendance in school. Hence, the school seeks support in individual and organizational basis to gather the resources as needed. However, the school does not have a reliable support yet. As the school is not getting any support from the community and very minimal support from government, the school goes through financial problems every now and then. There are very basic things that the school has to focus on, and not only education. The school does not have any rigid source for financial support as a result the school is weak infrastructure wise and also the school is unable to provide quality education to the students. The students do not have enough books, stationary, dress, resources for extra-curricular activities, as they as well as the school cannot afford for this. Such shortages have hindered the students from getting the education in the best possible way.
Rotaract Club of Jawalakhel Manjushree would want to help this school progress for the better future of both the students and the school. We would focus on the development of education as well as resources- both human and material resources of this school.
