BENEFITING: Research Down Syndrome
ORGANIZER: Research Down Syndrome
Hello! As many of you may already know, I have (bravely) decided to run the Chicago Marathon on October 12. This will be a huge personal challenge for me as I have never run a marathon before, not even a half marathon. I decided since since I'm going to be running the marathon, I should do it for a cause I strongly believe in. Therefore, I have decided to run for Research Down Syndrome (RDS). RDS is the leading source of private funding for Down syndrome related cognitive research that is conducted at preeminent institutions including Johns Hopkins, Stanford University, and several others. I urge you to check them out for yourself via the link I provided and the blurb wrote below by RDS:
I have both personal and professional experience working with individuals that have Down syndrome and feel honored to run for a worthy cause such as RDS.
Please help me in my fundraising goal of $1,200 by donating as little or as much as you can. I truly appreciate all donations that are sent my way!!
Thank you for taking time to read this and for considering a donation to my cause :)

Research Down Syndrome is changing the course in understanding and treating intellectual disabilities in Down syndrome.
RDS is committed to supporting the identification of the causes of the intellectual impairments associated with Down syndrome and to facilitating the development of pharmacological therapies to improve memory, learning and communication in persons with Down syndrome. Remarkable progress has already been made over a very short time. In fact, two human clinical trials have already begun, less than a decade after the support of private foundations stimulated the progress of Down syndrome cognitive research. Your support will help translate these research initiatives into a reality.
Please join with the RDS Runners as their miles help RDS fund research that already has made extraordinary progress.
Let’s Race for the Extraordinary!
