BENEFITING: Research Down Syndrome
ORGANIZER: Research Down Syndrome
EVENT: San Francisco Marathon 2014
As some of you may know I am running the 2014 San Francisco Marathon. However this year I want to do it for a cause and I will be running for a foundation called Research Down Syndrome (RDS). As a Wounded Warrior member, I wanted to run for a different yet prevalent cause in the military. Children born in military families face a higher percentage of being affected with Down syndrome. For reasons unknown, I believe research foundations like this one can find us answers.
Research Down Syndrome supports scientific studies directed towards understanding the sources of cognitive difficulties in persons with Down syndrome. RDS believes in the promise of a future where therapies will be available that will help improve memory, learning and communication in persons with Down syndrome. This will lead to increased life opportunities in education, employment, social interactions….perhaps a future where persons with Down syndrome might be able to live independently. Please join with the RDS Runners as their miles help RDS fund research that already has made extraordinary progress.
I have already donated $500 for this cause and I am looking to raise the same amount.
Any small contribution goes a long way and I appreciate everybody's support.
