REACHING U A FOUNDATION FOR URUGUAY via Crowdrise
November 07, 2011
BENEFITING: REACHING U A FOUNDATION FOR URUGUAY
EVENT DATE: Oct 30, 2011
For each $ that you donate or raise for Reaching U, a boy or a girl, a teenager or a young mother living in poverty's life is touched. Opportunities open up for them, sometimes things they could not have imagined. With the generous support from persons like yourself, we support schools, after school programs, health centers and women's shelters.
Los PRIMITIVOS is a running team that proudly supports ReachingU and wants to help spread out their message and support their fundraising efforts to fund their projects. We also commit our time and last year we started training teenagers at Liceo Jubilar, one of the projects supported by RU. We intend to repeat this experience with other kids later on and also to appeal to other runners in our country, Uruguay. If you love running, or if you share our belief that there is much to be done to improve poor people's lives in Uruguay, help us in this cause.
This year, runners from our group will participate in two of the most important marathons in the United States, Washington DC and New York City. Mercedes Vidal, Candace Fritz, Rossana Arechavaleta and Carlos Ponce de León will run in Washington DC and Juan Pablo Fabini together with Martin Villar and Federico Ravazzani will do so in NYC a week after.
After many months of extenuous training, our runners will make the enormous effort to run 26 miles. Of you, we ask that you help us raise USD 1.000 for each of the 5 runners that will participate in these races.
Use the DONATE button to donate using your credit card. Each dollar goes directly to our organization (less th 5% that goes to our friends at crowdrise.com in order for this great idea to work).
We invite you to share this with all your friends using the e-mail, Facebook and Twitter buttons. With a little push each, we can do a lot to change many people's lives.
