Read for the Record Pittsburgh
Organized by: Jumpstart Pittsburgh
EVENT DATE Oct 22, 2015
WHAT IS JUMPSTART'S READ FOR THE RECORD:
On October 22, 2015 children and adults worldwide will take action by participating in the world’s largest shared reading experience. Each year, Jumpstart selects one children’s book as the catalyst for Read for the Record. This year’s campaign book, Not Norman: A Goldfish Story, written by Kelly Bennett and illustrated by Noah Z. Jones, is a humorous tale about a child who finds a new friend in an unexpected place. With your help, Jumpstart Pittsburgh will provide Not Norman books and activities to the children we serve here in Pittsburgh.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED:
DONATE: Any donation will help! Your donation will work to sponsor a pre-school classroom for our Jumpstart Pittsburgh Read for the Record Celebration. With a donation of $30, every child in a classroom will recieve our Read for the Record book, Not Norman: A Goldfish Story by Kelly Bennett, and 3 take home literacy activities. In addition, the classroom will be provided materials to hold their very own Read for the Record celebration!
READ & POST: Register to read at http://www.jstart.org/campaigns/register-read and on October 22nd share your post-reading picture along with why you read to Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter. Use the hashtags #whyIreadPGH, #PAchallenge, and #ReadfortheRecord to help Jumpstart Pittsburgh beat Jumpstart Philadelphia in the 1st Annual Read for the Record PA Challenge!
