BENEFITING: GK 1 WORLD FOUNDATION
We are gathering funds to enable us to provide immediate material support and to start rebuilding elementary schools damaged or destroyed by the super typhoon Yolanda which devastated the Philippines on Nov 8, 2013. We are focusing initially on the communities of Bogo, Medellin, San Remegio, Philippines.
These cities are where the Super Typhoon with winds over 215 mph hit. over 95% of all structures in the cities were destroyed completely.
Most relief aid is heading to Tacloban which is why i am looking to start in the smaller towns of Bogo, Medellin and San Remegio. These towns have a population just over 50,000 people and little to no resources to cope with this magnitude of crisis.
The cost per classroom is estimated to be $10000. Our goal is to rebuild as many as possible as fast as possible!
