Rebuilding education and smiles in iraq village
Organized by: Hussam Al-siyaghy
Hello, I am here to tell you a story of hardship and courage, recently I was contacted by a friend about a small villiage in Iraq, with children that are in need of supplies and a roof over them to protect them. Their situation as follows: -The original school was bombed and destroyed during the recent war -the government was petitioned by village and nearby town members to help build a school for the children -In 2010 they were finally given mobile trailers, the condition of the trailers were very poor but the village settled on the belief that the government would soon have a plan to build the permanent structure -Foundation was being dug by the government in 2010 but only partially completed and left alone since then, they have expressed the budget for the school was not passed by the parliment and it has been that way since -School supplies, clothing during winter months is all paid for by salaries from the teachers, myself, and friends every year -I have purchased a hair trimming kit and supplies to give the boys there a haircut and help with the financial burden on the poor families. I am a young professional located in the united states and have sponsored and volunteered for many causes domestic and international no matter the faith or region. I was a refugee myslef and I want to help but for this cause and the children but I am asking for help to give them something more. Thank you brothers and sisters for all your contributions and love. I will keep everyone updated and all records will be accounted for.
