BENEFITING: Rebuilding Together NYC
ORGANIZER: Rebuilding Together NYC
I'm running the 26.2 mile ING New York City Marathon on Sunday, November 3rd! I’m running to help rebuild houses through Rebuilding Together, a nonprofit that has committed to rebuilding at least 200 homes that were damaged by Hurricane Sandy by 2014. As you know, Hurricane Sandy ravaged the New York area. Throughout the region, Rebuilding Together has already repaired and rehabilitated nearly 100 homes. I know the organization well as I've served on the board of directors of Rebuilding Together NYC for the last 8 years - it's a great organization and a very worthy cause. Everyone deserves a warm, safe and dry place to live.
Will you help me raise money to help our neighbors in need? My goal is to raise $5,000 to benefit Rebuilding Together. Will you donate $1, $10 or $100 per mile?
MORE ABOUT REBUILDING TOGETHER NYC
Rebuilding Together NYC is a nonprofit organization for safe and healthy housing that provides repairs and modifications to low-income homes and non-profit facilities. We exist to serve the pressing needs of low-income homeowners and nonprofit organizations throughout New York City. With the help of our corporate sponsors and civic-minded volunteers, we make this happen at no cost to the homeowner or organization that benefits from our programs.
We feel that this mission is a testament to the willingness, and eagerness, of people to help make a difference. Founded in 1999, we have performed projects throughout the five boroughs and are building our programs to provide even more to those that need a helping hand.
