BENEFITING: RED BUCKET EQUINE RESCUE
EVENT DATE: Dec 31, 2012
Have you ever thought about what it might be like to be left to starve, or to be stuffed into a truck, with no air, no food, no water, only to find yourself three days later (if you make it) facing the most brutal and inhumane death?
Most can't even begin to imagine what that must be like. But it's happening to 130,000 of horses in the US each year. Now imagine a place where the people work day and night to save these horses. That's the Red Bucket Equine Rescue.
In 2009, The Red Bucket Equine rescue was started by Susan Peirce who found nine horses that were starving. Four years later and with over 400 volunteers, the Red Bucket Equine Rescue has rescued over 150 horses and has a remarkable rate of rehabilitating and placing these horses in FOREVER HOMES. Over 52 of these horses have been placed. Although the Red Bucket Equine Rescue sustains itself through horse shows, events, programs and placements, the cost to move 96 horses to a larger home was expensive. Every penny is needed to pay for the transportation, food and medicine that it took to get everyone over here safely.
Be part of the miracle to witness the blooming of these gentle beasts from fearful, physically and emotionally injured animals into the magnificent beauties they were meant to be.
