Red Deer PCn Women's Fun Run in support of The Mustard Seed
EVENT DATE: May 12, 2018
The Red Deer PCN Women's Fun Run is proud to support The Mustard Seed School Lunch Program and the important work they do in our community. Together, last year our race raised almost $20,000 to help provide lunches for children all across Red Deer.
The Mustard Seed school lunch program is designed to assist families and schools by providing nutritious lunches. Every school day volunteers make between 330-350 lunches that are delivered directly to around 32 schools in Red Deer. Keeping proper nutrition in mind, the lunches we pack include a whole wheat sandwich of the children’s choice, a serving of fresh fruit, a serving of fresh vegetables, and a snack item(cookie, muffin, granola bar etc.) All of our lunches are made fresh in house the day that they are delivered and are nut free. In 2017 we made 54,963 lunches for hungry kids right here in Red Deer!
With your help, we're hoping to raise funds for more then 5,000 school lunches! Each lunch costs approximately $2.00 so make yourself a goal to raise enough for a month's worth of lunch, six month's worth of lunches, or a year's worth. The sky is the limit! Gather your family and friends, get a team going, and let's work together to make a huge impact on the lives of school kids in Red Deer!
