BENEFITING: ELDER CARE ALLIANCE
It’s time to change the focus away from generational labels and segmentations like “Baby Boomer” or “Generation X” to a new cohort composed of different generations in which age is not a label or limit. How can we redefine age to be something that is valued and celebrated?- where every age is the best AGE to be.
From toddlers to elders, artists are invited to submit a 12” square canvas that honors their personal experiences and celebrates something about the artist's current age. What is wonderful about being 5? How does it feel to be 29? Why is 86 your best year yet?
The collective body of work will result in a panorama of 12”x12” canvases representing a new way to understand age-as a personal experience rather than a demographic label. This visual celebration of age will be exhibited throughout the San Francisco Bay Area beginning in September 2014 through March of 2015. Selected works will also be part of a larger project at the Annual LeadingAge Conference in Nashville, TN on October 20- 24, 2014 with over 6,000 in attendance.
