Cimate change, ocean acidification and other human impacts are threatening coral reefs around the world. In Honduras, Oman, the Maldives and Malaysia, Biosphere Expeditions is on the ground, hands-on, working for the conservation of these unique and vital habitats through research, education, capacity-building and protected area creation.
This project works for the conservation of
Coral reefs and associated species and habitats
$10 will buy an education pack for local children or adults
$100 will pay for conservation through education school visit
$500 will pay of a day of research vessel patrolling and data gathering
$1000 will create an internship for a young, local up-and-coming conservationist
$3000 will buy a training campaign for local goverment marine biolgists
$5000 will create a full educational campaign in local schools
Donors who give $3000 or more will be invited to join the project for one or two weeks in the field to help with and experience conservation in action, and to see what their donation does on the ground.
