BENEFITING: American Cancer Society
For the past couple of years, Reenies Riders have participated in the Bridge to Beach event for the American Cancer Society. Reenies Riders had a dual name as Maureen (the rider) organized the group to raise funds for a cancer cure and her Aunt Maureen who had beaten lung cancer. In 2011, Aunt Maureen was diagnosed with stage 3.5 lung cancer. Surgery was deemed as "no benefit for the patient". After a couple years of treatment, Maureen was found to have "no evidence of cancer" - a miracle !! Maureen enjoyed life with family and social outings. In the spring of 2016, the cancer returned. She continued to live a full life of work, baseball games, weekend dinners and at the beach. In October, the cancer overcame her. We are proud of her fearless fight. In her memory and to help find the cure, Reenies Riders have established a fund. We appreciate your participation in winning the cancer battle.
