Heart House is a wonderful organization in Dallas, Texas that provides refugee and underprivileged children with remarkable afterschool programs to make sure that they are excelling academically and are on a path to success... Thanks to Heart House, children have access to caring mentors, homework assistance, health & safety education, and literacy programs.
The video to the left of the page will give you a brief overview of the amazing work they're doing... The link below will provide any additional details needed:
My friends and I volunteer at this wonderful organization, and are planning to take 45 children in November to visit The Crow Museum of Asian Art in Dallas followed by lunch close by.
The museum is free and has kindly offered a guided tour to the children and volunteers, but we are hoping to collect funds to cover transportations and lunch cost for the day. The bus that will transport the children from Heart House offices to the Museum and back will alone cost $250.
As you can imagine, such visit is a rarity for these children as they can't afford it on their own. We would love to make this visit happen for these children and have their eyes feast on the museum's beautiful collection, on the hope that it will bring them some peace and comfort and will hopefully inspire them to look for beauty everywhere.
We'd greatly appreciate any dollar amount you can contribute towards the visit's cost. Please keep in mind that any additional dollar amount that we collect beyond our basic needs will be donated to Heart House to support their on-going programs.
Thanks so much
