Relief for Rescued Chow Chows of Texas
Organized by: Dawn Brown
Soon after the storms of spring pass, the sweltering heat of the Texas summer sun arrives. Imagine wearing your fur coat in 100+ degree heat. Our abandoned and rescued Chow Chows continue to suffer even when we are able to save them from the euthanasia list. Yes-- we save them from death, but we are in no way able to provide them the environment that will allow them to thrive until we find their forever homes. Without assistance, we can only rescue as many as our homes will accommodate . To rescue more and place them outside would be tantamount to issuing a slower death sentence from heatstroke. As we continue to spay/neuter, immunize, treat for ailments, feed, and all the other requirements of saving a Chow Chow, we need to expand our housing. This is where you can help. We need kennels equipped with A/C units that allow room for exercise, but also, a place to retreat from the blistering southern sun. Please help us help these loyal companions.
