BENEFITING: UNITED WAY OF GREENBRIER VALLEY INC
Many of us are now aware of the devastating flooding that has affected large areas in southeastern West Virginia. 23 lives were lost and over 1,200 homes were destroyed, leaving an as yet untold number of families displaced. President Obama has declared West Virginia a disaster area so that the state of West Virginia can access federal support in the aftermath of this disaster. For our family and friends living in West Virginia, Virginia, and surrounding areas, this devastation is in our back yard with many of our family and friends directly affected.
The immediate danger is still being dealt with and recovery will take to types of efforts; immediate need and long-term recovery. From being in contact with relatives directly affected by these efforts, a local United Way chapter has been on the ground supporting families affected by this disaster since day one. To learn more about this United Way chapter, please visit https://www.unitedwaygreenbrier.org/flood.
To do our part to support this relief, MBL Technologies and HMS Technologies have partnered up to raise relief funds, 100% of which will be donated to the United Way of Greenbrier County Flood Relief Campaign. We are collecting donations through this Crowdrise site from July 1 – July 31, and at the end of this period, we will donate 100% of the funds raised during this period to the local United Way chapter to support both immediate relief and long-term recovery efforts.
