BENEFITING: The ALS Association
I lost my amazing mom, Mary Ellen Young, to ALS - she was just 51 years old. This year I am turning 30 and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than to support finding a cure for ALS!
When my mom turned 30, she was a vibrant, healthy, young mom. She had no idea that less than 20 years later she would receive the diagnosis of ALS, a terminal illness. By the time she was 49, she could not speak or move and remained in that state for 2.5 years. Where many would understandably fall into a deep depression, my mom maintained her beautiful smile and strong faith throughout. She touched ALL of those around her.
Thankfully, last year's ALS Ice Bucket Challenge brought tremendous awareness to this terrible disease. The ALS Association received more donations than ever to help find a cure and to help patients and their families who could not afford the proper care. I want to help continue to support their efforts.
To celebrtate my 30th birthday I'm asking you, my family and dearest friends (those that knew my mom and those who just knew of her), to donate $30 to ALS. Please make this donation in honor of my mom, who would have wanted her story to continue to inspire and help others.
Thank you all for your support through these years. It truly means the world!
