Mia & Remus met through their mom's, Courtney & Jill. Courtney & Jill became friends when they met at college and have bonded even more over their love for pit bulls!
Remus (the black dog) was adopted from a local shelter in Erie, PA in September 2011. He was about 10 months old and the people at the shelter said he came in as a stray. That's all they knew about him. Remus was at the shelter for about a month when Courtney and her boyfriend, Adam went to the shelter and saw him. They first saw his photo on the shelter's website and couldn't resist going to see him. They had been thinking of getting a dog for awhile and decided that Remus was the perfect pittie for them! Since being adopted Remus has excelled in obedience school! He just graduated his senior level class and is looking to earn his CGC very soon! Remus and Courtney have dreams of being a therapy team one day!
Mia (the brown dog) was rescued from an unknown future when she was only 4 or 5 weeks old. She was born at a house in very poor conditions, outside in a dirt pen! Mia and her littermates had no shelter from the weather, had a lot of flea bites, fleas and three different kinds of works. Nobody knows what other kind of dog that Mia is mixed with as her pit bull momma got pregnant by a neighborhood dog on accident. Mia and her mom, Jill live in Central NY. If Jill had not crossed paths with Mia who knows where or what would have happened to her! Currently Mia and Jill are doing lots of training at home to prepare for the CGC and therapy dog tests. Jill is very passionate about helping people and Mia loves everyone that she encounters so helping people together with be a wonderful experience!
Together Remus, Mia, Jill & Courtney hope to make a difference in the lives of pit bulls everywhere. We are all very excited to be part of the StubbyDog Superhero Program and are willing to go the extra mile to do what we can to help our favorite breed of dog!
