Renaissancewilmington Foundation

Renaissance Wilmington Foundation (RWF) plans, implements amenities & services to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors to the Southeastern, NC

Renaissance Wilmington Foundation (RWF) was formed in 2015 to fill a void in the Wilmington Region. While there are more than a thousand social service providers in the Region, no other 501C3 has a mission similar to RWF. RWF grew out of needs identified by Vision 2020, the Waterfront Task Force and the earlier work of Cape Fear Future Commission. Since Downtown Wilmington is the focal point of most resident and visitor activity and is at the heart of the City’s renaissance, first projects began there:

  • Completion of the Riverwalk and “Best American Riverfront,” per USA Today
  • Renaissance Park
  • Riverwalk Enhancements
  • Boathouse
  • Eagles Island
  • Bike Path
  • Cape Fear Museum, Maritime and Marine Sciences Museum
  • Track Relocation
  • Third Bridge
