The reason for this fundraiser is to be able to travel form N.C. to WA to be with my Mom during her breast cancer operation and radiation treatments, as well as during her recovery period. My Mom was diagnosed with breast cancer two days ago (10-29-12). She is the sweetest, kindest, most loving woman that you could meet. Finding out that you have cancer is a shocking, frightening challenge for anyone. At age 73, my Mom is strong and always optimistic. She lives in Washington State and I reside in North Carolina. My Mom is more than a Mom to me, she is my best friend and has been my rock during difficult times in my life. Mom lives below the poverty level, but somehow manages to make ends meet. I have health issues and have not been able to work. Neither can afford for me to fly there. There is no doubt in my mind that my being there for her during this difficult time will help her tremendously. She will be seeing the surgeon on Nov 8, 2012. He will explain the procedures to her. Then a surgery date will be scheduled. It could be relatively soon. I have asked for monetary help a couple of times in my life. Most people I know are having tough times as well. That is why I decided to try this way to raise funds. Every $ 1 will help in achieving my goal of being there for my Mom during this very scary time in her life. Thank you for reading this and may God bless you all.
