FLYING SQUIRRELS CHARITIES' Photo

THE STORY:

The Richmond Flying Squirrels Charities and community partners have joined together in an effort to transform dilapidated city baseball fields into safe, fun spaces for the community to play and be proud of. This project, called Renovating Richmond’s Recreation, is underway in an effort to provide recreational opportunities for youth in the city. In conjunction with the Greater Richmond Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities this campaign will renovate, create, and support local opportunities for youth recreation. Renovating Richmond’s Recreation is intended to create safe, community-minded spaces that are dedicated to Richmond’s youth. The first project is to renovate 12 Richmond City youth baseball facilities. The 12 facilities are listed below and dugouts and fields have already been constructed on several of these (shown below). Dugouts are simply phase one of this plan with full field renovations to follow with your help.
