EVENT: Agents of Change 2016
Dickinson Insurance and Financial Services
Every day disabled veterans live in isolation and despair and every day dogs are being euthanized at overcrowded shelters. Dogs 4 Disabled Veterans (D4DV) is committed to the rehabilitation of rescue dogs and giving them a purpose as service dogs or emotional support dogs for disabled veterans. Of the 2.9 million disabled veterans, the majority of them are 90% disabled, while over 200,000 veterans are 100% disabled. On the other hand, it has been estimated that nearly 6 million animals are euthanized each year. D4DV is an all-volunteer organization that places rescue dogs in a correctional facility where inmates train them. The dogs, inmates, and veterans all win through this process. We are on a mission to raise funds to help D4DV purchase the necessary items for the care and training of the dogs and keep making a difference in our community!
