The mission of Reston Challenge is to raise and provide money for local and national charities by having fun and building community.
What is the Reston Challenge Event:
The Reston Challenge is a once-a-year charity event held in Reston. The first event, held in October 2010, was a scavenger hunt and trivia test in and around the Reston Town Center. People registered as teams to complete a set course by answering questions, finding clues, and completing challenges. Prizes were awarded for various categories! The most important part of the Reston Challenge is to have fun and raise money for a good cause. The 2011 event was canceled due to a unexpected autumn snow storm that swept the east coast. This year’s event will be held on May 12th in Reston’s Lake Anne Plaza with a rain date scheduled the next day.
Reston Challenge Inc.
The Reston Challenge is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity organization that was started in 2010. The organization was created by Reston locals who wanted to not only give something back to the community of Reston, but also wanted to create a fun way to raise awareness about causes. By changing the Reston Challenge’s annual charity every year different causes can be championed.
It is our hope that we can grow the Reston Challenge every year and turn it into a truly integral part of the Reston community. We are very thankful for all the support we receive: corporate partners, sponsors, volunteers, charities and all the folks in Reston and the surrounding areas who support us by attending events and helping us to establish the organization. In the coming years, we hope that the Reston Challenge can become bigger, better, and will be able to truly make a difference with our charitable partners.
