Restoration of Alta's Happy Dance
Organized by: Jonathan Coker
My girlfriend and I are the proud parents of a 3 and half year, 85 pound, Dogo Argentino (Argentine Mastiff). He is so sweet, calm, quiet, and loving not to mention the worlds best Teddy Bear! He also does this little happy dance and quite a bit of jumping around. But earlier this year that ended and we noticed he was limping heavily and lifting his left hind leg. We took him to a vet who highly recommended he have a TPLO surgery, which is an ACL/knee reconstructive surgery. They rebuilt his knee so that he would no longer need his ACL at all. The doctor also informed us that statistically there would be a 80% chance that Alta would need it on his other leg too. Sure enough, about four months later he couldn't put down his right rear leg. So we were forced to have a second surgery on that leg too. Being that he is less than four years old, putting him down was not a choice for us. The total cost was $7,000... eeep!!! This is fairly average for both procedures. He is recovering very well, but now we have to start paying the bill. This is a huge expense that we were not expecting so coming up with the cash to pay it has been a huge struggle. We are both working a ton and slowly chipping away at the balance but any help at all would be greatly appreciated!!!! Thank you soooooo much! Help finance Alta's happy dance!
