BENEFITING: Save the Children
EVENT DATE: Jun 13, 2014
#RestoreHappy is a movement starting to highlight the resilience of Syria's beautiful children.
A few weeks ago, a we traveled from DC to Syrian refugee camps in Jordan and walked among the children with Pharrell's 'Happy' blaring on portable speakers around our necks. Despite all the pain and turmoil these beautiful souls have been through with the past 3 years of conflict, as the music blared through the dessert terrain, for minutes, their troubles seem to melt away and they relived moments of their youth. Innocent smiles plastered on their faces. For those few minutes, all those children seemingly cared about was how much on air time they got. How their hair looked in the photos. And how “wicked” their dance moves are.

We are now back in Washington and want to keep the smiles alive. We are running the Ridiculous Obstacle Course Race (http://rocrace.com/obstacles/) on the 14th of June to raise money to support the Syria Children in Crisis Fund of Save the Children. We will be dressed in ridiculous outfits in the colors of Syria - red, green, white and black with #RESTOREHAPPY painted on us.
Our goal is to keep raising awareness and funds to support Syria's beautiful children. Every bit counts.
