Easter Cross Dedication
March 02, 2018
BENEFITING: Provo Community Church
We are now in the final stage of the project: Buying a bronze plaque with the history of the Cross. The estimated cost for the plaque is $2500 to $3000, so we need that much additional money. Please encourage everyone to donate so we can finish this up.
The Easter Cross is a ten-foot stone cross that was built on Y Mountain in 1939. Click here for an article about the Cross's history. Click here or here for articles about the Eagle project. Click here or here for other articles about this project. You can also Google "Provo Easter Cross".
On November 7, 2016, we moved the Easter Cross from its home on Y Mountain to its new location in the EastLawn cemetery on Squaw Peak. A few pictures of that process are to your left.
On April 15, 2017, a local Eagle candidate landscaped the terrace. He and his group laid 150 feet of sprinkler pipe and two pallets of sod. A few pictures of that are to your left.
The Cross was completed last May and we worked on the landscaping over the last few months. On March 24, 2018, the Cross was dedicated in an interdenominational service.
If you're driving down Orem Center Street toward the Riverwoods some late afternoon, you can look up and see the Easter Cross
If you are reading this, please donate (that orange button at the top of the page) and share this link with everyone you know, so we can finish what we started.
