Hello Everyone! Rethink Trauma is an important project. Not just to me, but for a lot of people who don't know where to go. We seek to not just raise awareness but offer solutions and connect people to the resources they need most. I know what it is like to feel like you are alone and looking for help. I know what it is like to be told no by doctors, hospitals, clinics, people, even ministries. I don't want anyone to feel that way; alone, awash, without help. Rethink Trauma wants to meet people where they are. We want to listen to the people that need help and to the groups already offering help. We want to close the gap between those who are desperately searching and those hoping to be found. We want you to rethink what trauma means too. We want to nurture a deep understanding and compassion for the traumas that we all suffer and have suffered. I commonly use the expression: Which is heavier? A pound of bricks or a pound of feathers? When I say that, it is usually to those who look at my life and think that I have the market cornered on trauma; that I've somehow won the one-up contest I didn't know that I was playing. But I'm here to tell you, no one does. We all need help. We all need someone to reach out to us. You may support this project because of people that you know and then find, you need help too. That's okay. We're here to help. Our goal is $35,000 and that might seem like a lot of money. Because it is. But it doesn't have to be. You can give a dollar each month and it would help. But how does it help? Well, first off it helps buy the most valuable thing that we could possibly have - Time. Part of that $35,000 is going to go to make sure that I'm fed, sheltered, and medicated. When you support me, you support the mission of Rethink Trauma by allowing me the ability to do it full time. So our budget may look a little lopsided at first, but that's because without someone out there being able to do the work that Rethink Trauma is setting out to do, we're nothing more than a Facebook page with good intentions. Every successful organization needs committed partners to make it happen, we need you! Yes, you! It doesn't have to be much. I only give ten dollars a month to Restore One, but it makes a difference. We need you to help make a difference. We want to be able to give people free access to the network of groups already working to help people. The last thing I want to ask a hurting person for is their money. So instead I'm asking for yours. No joke. If you like us, you like what we do, click give. If you want to know more, email us! RethinkTrauma@gmail.com I would love to talk more with anyone who has questions. What do you need? A line item budget? A formal proposal? I will provide what you need to show you the full transparency of what we are doing and what those costs look like. Thank you in advance for your support!
