THE STORY:

REVIVE AND THRIVE PROJECT wrote -

A 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization | EIN# 90-1015393. Donations are tax deductible.

Good food, prepared with care and delivered with love, can make the difference between barely surviving, and actually thriving, when faced with a life-threatening illness.

With a diagnosis like cancer, patients can find it a serious struggle to meet the most basic day to day needs. At a time when every bite really matters, treatments, tests, appointments, and tough side effects, put at risk one of the most important elements of recovery…the availability of nourishing food. And it isn’t just patients that are at risk.  Families, loved ones and caregivers are affected too!

We also know that sharing food is a universal way of expressing care for others. And it nurtures both the giver and receiver.

So we have launched the Revive and Thrive Project in Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the community to come together and provide healing meals for people who need them.

Teens are taught how to prepare delicious and healthy meals. Not only do they learn to cook, they get to feel the transformative power of serving others.

Adult volunteers mentor the teens, provide support to patients and serve as meal delivery angels.

Patients receive wholesome meals to support their healing and help sustain them (and their families).

Here’s where we are today:

  • We have the program framework (via the Ceres Community Project in Sebastopol, California.)
  • After early work at a local cancer support center, we now have a donated commercial kitchen.
  • We have volunteer teen chefs, adult helpers and patients who need us!

We have community partners in urban farming, food markets and community health. Now we need to complete the picture and that’s where YOU come in.

Your tax deductible donation will enable us get proper cookware, delivery containers, and pantry staples. It will also ensure we have the structures to make this project sustainable; like insurance, kitchen prep licenses and expanded food handling training.

Will you help? Check out our video to learn more.

And in advance, thanks for joining with us to nurture our community one bite at a time!

Each dollar donated has a triple value by simultaneously supporting our teen program, those dealing with a health crisis and putting those dollars back into our local economy through our purchases.

$1,000 feeds a family for 2 months + 40 hours of teen mentoring.

$500 feeds a single mom and her two children for 6 weeks + 32 hours of teen mentoring.

$250 buys a 20 quart + 100 quart stainless steel pots.

$100 feeds a senior living alone for one month + 8 hours of teen mentoring.

$50 provides a food containers for a month or a 5 quart ceramic sauté pan.

$25 makes a batch of our immune broth or buys an insulated food delivery bag.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! www.reviveandthriveproject.org
