CROWDRISING SINCE: Jun 24, 2013
Stuff About Me:

“As an Episcopal priest, the Gospel that encourages my participation in speaking out against- and dismantling- systems of injustice motivates me. I came to know Sarah Shourd during and after her incarceration in Iran. My congregation prayed for the release of Sarah, Shane, and Josh for as many weeks as it took to see them all free and home. Though many never met them, we all felt grateful that we could work towards their release by “visiting” them in prison with our hearts at prayer, and by making their story known and heard in our communities. It changed some of us, myself included, into people who now want to work to stop the cruel practice that is solitary confinement here at home. I can think of no better way than supporting the work of Sarah Shourd and Solitary Watch through the creation of ‘Opening the Box.’”
