BENEFITING: RUN FOR THE FALLEN MAINE
EVENT DATE: Oct 27, 2013
Hello. My name is Laura Patten, and I am running the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon with Run-for-the-Fallen's Maine Team. (For those of you wondering, my amazing husband and extended family hail from Maine.)
More importantly, I am running in honor of Major Jay T. Aubin, a Marine and a Mainer who, was killed in Operation Iraqi Freedom on March 21st 2003, leaving behind a widow and two young children. The helicopter mechanic was only 36 years old. I did not have the honor of knowing Major Aubin, but I am grateful for his service and hope that our team, in some small way, helps keep his legacy alive.
Toward that end, Run for the Fallen Maine is a charitable organization dedicated to keeping alive the memory of military men and women who have died protecting our freedom since September 11th 2001. We do this by running in public -- while wearing photos of a hero and by raising money to help his or her survivors.
I am trying to raise $500 for this effort.
Please donate if you can, as every(!) dollar matters, through this crowdrise page. Even if you are not in a position to make a monetary donation, please take a moment to read about MAJ. Aubin via these links. Together, we can keep his memory alive.
