EVENT DATE: Jul 31, 2016
This year's summer solstice was a reminder to celebrate action, motivation, and intention this season.
My action: After 6 months of steadfast training, I will be running the San Francisco Marathon for the very first time on July 31, 2016, which also happens to be just after my 41st birthday. Last year, so many of you were incredibly generous with your support as I entered a new decade and you graciously contributed to my organization, APPEAL. As my birthday wish, I invite you to support APPEAL's meaningful work once again.
My motivation: As I reflect on how this year has marked a time of personal growth and transformation, I plan to run on behalf of so many others persevering through life-changing journeys, whether it’s surviving cancer, extending their life by quitting smoking, or losing weight to stay healthy for their grandchildren. This is exactly what APPEAL stands for – addressing the top preventable killers of our communities: tobacco and obesity.
My intention: I humbly request that you consider making a donation to support APPEAL’s mission to build a healthy and tobacco-free Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander community. Your donation will make each of our activities, whether it is leadership trainings, capacity building, or advocacy for policy change not only a possibility, but also an asset for the communities we serve. If I can raise $100 for every mile I run during the marathon, I will achieve my goal of raising $2600 to support APPEAL. Thank you in advance for supporting my organization and my continued journey of healthful living!!
Much love and appreciation to you all... Rhodora/Gail Ursua
