Every year the Rhonda Walker Foundation (RWF) welcomes a new class of promising 8th graders into our Girls into Women Program. Over the next five years we watch them develop into strong, confident and successful future leaders like Brianna Williams, RWF Class of 2017.
"The Rhonda Walker Foundation has created a new person of me: confident, successful, and intelligent. Prior to being a member of the foundation, I had two of these qualities, both successful and intelligent, but this program has helped me redefine my thoughts on success and intelligence. I have come to learn there is no limit to either. Also, the Rhonda Walker Foundation introduced me to a concept I had often heard but never mastered, confidence. As a young lady, I wasn’t extremely confident in myself. Through the foundation, I have developed a love of self and realized my worth. For this, all I can do is thank the Rhonda Walker Foundation for providing me with these skills."
For 14 years, RWF has empowered inner city teen girls in Detroit through our comprehensive Girls into Women Program. Our program is structured around five core pillars: College Prep; Career Development; Personal Development; Health, Wellness and Fitness; and Community Outreach, service and Cultural Development. Our outcomes have been stellar with a 100% high school graduation, college enrollment and college graduation rate among the Detroit teens who complete our program.
