THE STORY:
Rian is an eight year old in northern New Hampshire that was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in March of 2013. Her body relies on insulin to survive and her blood glucose levels are vital to her staying healthy. Her levels are unpredictable and the family has decided to get her a Diabetic Alert Dog to monitor her highs and lows. The dog is $3,530.
The family is also in the process of getting Rian set up on a pump, while the insurance does cover 80% pumps range from $5,000 to $8,000.
Rian is like most girls her age, she loves music, art, ride her bike and to take dance lessons. Rian also has a 4 year old brother that she reads to and plays with. Rian is hoping to gain more independence with her diabetes while educating others on type 1 diabetes.
