You've heard the staggering statistics before... that 1 out of every 9 people worldwide don't have access to clean water, that 49% of people in rural Africa struggle daily for safe water to sustain themselves. But have you really thought about what this means? Something as simple as water, which we enjoy almost anywhere without hassle or worry, is a rare and unattainable to just less than a billion people in our world.
What can you do to make a difference? It's simple. Join in on the 10 days Project at Rice, where for 10 days we will join in with universities around the nation and give up drinking any beverages (coffee, tea, soda, etc) but water. The money we would have spent on other drinks, we will then donate to bring clean water to the thirsty. This money will go to support The Wells Project and Living Water International to provide sustainable and clean drinking water through drilling wells in the Ruhango District ,Rwanda (in five different villages). 10 days CAN make a difference, but we need you to jump in and do it with us!
