BENEFITING: FARM SANCTUARY
EVENT DATE: Jul 24, 2011
To raise money for Farm Sanctuary, I will be competing in the 2011 Ironman Lake Placid race on July 24th. Help support a great cause and keep me motived to swim, bike, and run 140.6 miles in the Adirondack mountains be donating to my Farm Sanctuary fundraiser!
Just think, your donation could be the reason I pick myself up out of a ditch after 10 hours of racing cursing your name until the finish just because I couldn't let you down!
Read more about my story here:
Q: Whats an Ironman?
A: An Ironman is a triathlon race consisting of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and 26.2 mile run that must be completed in under 17 hours. Its also the superhero persona of the brilliant engineer Tony Stark of Stark Enterprises.
Q: Isn't there an alligator in Lake Placid?
A: Not anymore, Betty White ate it. Watch the movie.
Q: I don't support PETA!
A: Thats not really a question now is it. While were on the subject of things we don't support, I for one don't support Crocs. They just don't look right! But PETA and Farm Sanctuary are two different organizations that go about things in two completely different ways.
Q: I'm not a vegetarian or vegan, why should I give money to Farm Sanctuary?
A: Because every time you donate, an angel gets their wings! Wait I'm thinking of the wrong thing. You should donate because Farm Sanctuary provides comfortable living for rescued farm animals and pushes for legislation to reduce the confinement of farm animals. So if you support things like free range beef and eggs then you can support what they do.
Q: What if I don't donate?
A: Then I'll sneak into your house and take your first born! Or I'll do nothing. I'll probably do nothing. But really, is it worth taking that risk?
