I am honored to be one of 75 Massachusetts State Troopers running the 2014 Boston Marathon for Cops For Kids With Cancer. This incredible organization not only raises money for local pediatric oncology units, but also donates directly to families whose children are battling cancer. Often one parent must leave a job to care for their child, putting a strain on the family's finances. Add to that deductibles, co-pays and treatments that insurance simply won't cover. The emotional toll cancer takes is bad enough; no family should also have to worry about mounting debt.
I know running a marathon won't be easy, but it's nothing compared to what these kids and their families are going through. As a father of three, my heart goes out to them. Together we can help ease their burden and let them focus on getting well. Thank you for donating any amount you can.
