A couple years ago, my mother in law was diagnosed with breast cancer. And even with the progress that we've had in medicine, it has failed to cure that scared feeling when you find out someone has cancer. I remember the tears my wife cried and there was nothing i could really say to comfort her. I could tell her the statistics and the improvements being made but i couldn't say there was a cure. This is one reason why i'm walking for this cause. Thankfully my mother in law is doing fine and the cancer has been removed. But that's not the story for everyone, and we want to change that. Please please please consider donating and helping me raise $1000.00 for the Pink Ribbon Place. --rickEy2
The Pink Ribbon Place:
The need for breast cancer education and services remains high in our area. Not only is breast cancer the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women, Riverside and San Bernardino counties have some of the highest mortality rates for breast cancer in all of Southern California. Experts attribute this high mortality rate to late diagnosis, indicating a lack of knowledge about breast cancer and its signs and symptoms.
Pink on Parade will also raise money for The Pink Ribbon Place, Riverside's first and only breast cancer resource center. The Pink Ribbon Place helps over 1,000 families a year through its no-cost counseling services, support groups, health and wellness programs, and breast prosthesis and wig bank.
