BENEFITING: JONATHAN CANCER FUND
On October 25th, 2014, Emily was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, after months of not feel like herself. Upon diagnosis, there were no tears, only a look of relief on her face when the doctor told her she had cancer, because she was that desperate for an answer as to what was wrong with her. Emily’s mom shares that through it all Emily “had total FAITH and no fear”. Through Emily's entire battle she kept up her high honor roll GPA, went to swim practice and competed in meets during chemo, with a port sewn into her chest muscle. She showed incredible strength and grace, as did her entire family. Emily is now finished with treatment and remains cancer-free! In 2015, Emily became the first childhood cancer survivor to complete 46 Mile Ride! Emily is entering her senior year in highschool. She wants to then go to nursing school and eventually work in pediatric oncology!
