BENEFITING: BETTER EARLY THAN LATE
EVENT DATE: Sep 17, 2016
Ride to Provide! Each rider will try to raise (through donations, pledges, and/or sponsorship) $360 ($10 per mile: route is a little more than 36 miles) to support Better Early Than Late, a registered nonprofit that provides free counseling and education to adolescents in the Bay Area in an effort to prevent substance abuse before it begins. All donations are tax deductible.
For more information about the organization visit www.betterearlythanlate.org.
On Saturday, September 17th, cyclists will join together on a ride along the scenic Paradise Loop route in Sausalito, California. The ride will begin and end in the Sports Basement (Presidio location) parking lot in San Francisco. Before the start of the ride, attendance will be taken to verify all riders are present as well as recognize them for the donations made in their name.
All riders will casually cross the bridge and then once we are all at the beginning of Paradise Loop, riders will be encouraged to push themselves to complete the loop as fast as they can; we hope many competitive riders will participate, and this format will help encourage a friendly contest of speed and endurance!
We are excited to announce that Dana Williams, one of the Bay Area's top cycling coaches and racers, will be helping guide and lead this ride. He will be sharing valuable tips to benefit cyclists of all ability levels based on his experience of founding and being the head coach at Achieve Performance Training & Coaching (www.achieveptc.com) and a USA Cycling National Criterium Champion. Also, he will be helping you achieve Strava PR's on the ride we'll be doing, Paradise Drive Loop, of which he holds many of the fastest/KOM times.
