Ride To Heal
Organized by: James Dennis
My name is James Dennis. On September 2, 2016, two other veterans and I are doing a bicycle ride from the Chicago, Illinois area to the Carrick Brain Center in Irving, Texas. Our event is called Ride to Heal. I need help to raise funds. $1600 to pay for two road bicycles, for myself and one of the other veterans to move to the next phase of training for this event. Our goal for the event is to raise $60,000 to help pay for two combat wounded Veterans who suffer from TBI and PTSD to get the help they need. Carrick Brain Center in Irving, Texas is the place for that help. I know this personally because I received treatment there in 2014 and it works. In my pre-treatment evaluation my balance was only at 30%. After I received treatment, my evaluation on my balance increased to 90%. I needed treatment because in 2010 I deployed with the 101st Airborne Division to Afghanistan. During my deployment I was blown up three times, twice in one day and again about three weeks later. I am a 2x Purple Heart recipient. I suffer from TBI and PTSD amongst other physical injuries. The two wounded veterans traveling with me are both Purple Heart recipients, both of them also were blown up. We are doing this to help our brothers who suffer from TBI and PTSD get proven help at the Carrick Brain Center for their unseen injuries. Your contributions will make a difference by offering real help for unseen injuries. We need you to offer hope and help to stop losing 22+ of my brothers every day, that's Active Duty and Veteran; Army, Marine, Air Force, and Navy. This is about helping my brothers and sisters!
