The Ride for New Beginnings is a 5 day, 400 mile bike ride, and has been dedicated for 17 years to raising awareness and funds for Harbor House to serve homeless youth.
Harbor House provides a safe haven and caring environment for vulnerable youth to enable them to unlock their potential and learn skills that will empower them to build healthier lives, relationships and futures. Thanks to its fundraising efforts, Harbor House has grown into a diverse, multi-service organization, helping over 8,000 children and families each year. All proceeds of the bike tour will go to Harbor House.
The cyclists will leave Manasquan, NJ on Wednesday, July 9, 2014. The ride will start by going north along the Jersey Shore, then a ferry ride to NYC, up the Hudson River, over the George Washington Bridge, going north along the Palisades, to Nyack, NY.
The second day, the cyclists will travel along the scenic areas of Pascack Valley, the Wawayanda Region and Orange County to Middletown, NY.
Day three of the ride will take cyclists south to High Point, NJ, through many historic and scenic towns and regions to Morristown, NJ.
The fourth day cyclists will continue south through New Jersey, through Jockey Hollow and the D & R Canal Zone to Bordentown, NJ.
The Ride for New Beginnings concludes on day 5, Sunday, July 13 at Harbor House’s Transitional Living Center located in Tom’s River, NJ where there will be a welcome home celebration for riders, staff, friends and family.
The ride is fully staffed with SAG support and a mechanic.
