BENEFITING: Riders For Health
Make a donation to Riders for Health today and help us reach millions of children in isolated villages with lifesaving health care.
Each year, malnutrition contributes to the deaths of 2.6 million children worldwide. The children who survive often suffer serious consequences to their health that last a lifetime. Take Musa, a four year old boy from The Gambia as an example.
‘We were taking Musa to hospital every month. He was always ill. Sometimes I would take him to hospital in the middle of the night. I could borrow a motorcycle but that is very dangerous on these roads at night,’ said Musa’s father, Momodou Swaneh.
But with a motorcycle a mobilized health worker can reach up to six times as many people making sure every child gets the care they need. With your support we can continue to help people like Bubacarr Jallow, the health worker in the video, who helped to treat Musa.
$30 could keep a health worker like Bubacarr on the road for over a month.
Bubacarr is responsible for 13,000 people in 14 villages in remote Gambia. Some days he travels up to 100km across rough rural terrain bringing the nutritional supplements and health education people desperately need.
‘Musa is healthy now, he’s always running around playing!’ says Momodou. ‘It helps us to know that Bubacarr is coming. We know when he will be here and he always is.’
By donating to Riders for Health you will be helping us to make sure health workers can reach more children like Musa delivering lifesaving health care to more communities across Africa.
By donating just $30 before 22 November you will give Riders the chance to win a share of $1m.
