Running for Right To Movement & Education in Palestine
Organized by: Rasha M
April 04, 2016
EVENT DATE Apr 01, 2016
The "Right to Movement" Marathon takes place annually in Bethlehem, in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. We "Run to tell a different story" - of occupation, restrictions, but most of all - Palestinian hope and resilience in the face of these challenges!! HIRN (Hebron Int'l Resources Network) is no different! We run, skydive, bungee jump, and whatever else it takes to raise awareness and support for marginalized communities.
Just 30 minutes South of the little town of Bethlehem is Hebron, where HIRN provides development assistance to marginalized communities that we know personally! One of those is the Village of Zweidin, a Bedoin community. During 2015, HIRN was actively involved with the Zweidin Girls school - providing them with 2 classrooms, a fence, and later, a Science Lab!! More girls than ever can enjoy the fun world of Chemistry, Biology and Physics with the equipment donated by HIRN and it's supporters.
Now, HIRN has made an arrangement to rehabilitate the bathrooms at this school. If we pay for the cost of 3 bathrooms, the Contractor has agreed to contribute the cost of 1 additional. Each costs approximately $2,000.
Will you Join the HIRN Friends and Family team and run with us on April 1st? If you cannot, we welcome your support financially! We are so pleased to bring your into the important work we are doing for the smart girls living in Zwedin!
Much Respect! HIRN friends and Family
